1) Nuxalk 2009/10 CATCH CALENDAR (information session)
This is a new tool for recording catch data. The basic idea is that Nuxalk food fishers would be
given a catch calendar and are asked to write down their catches each day they have fished.
The calendars have community pictures, tidal charts for each month, area maps, halibut weight
charts, rockfish ID charts, fish timing charts and can also be used to show community members
the projects that the Nuxalk Fisheries Department are conducting.
2) Nuxalk Fisheries Committee (NFC)- Committee Nominations and
Creation of Committee
The Nuxalk Fisheries Committee will help the Nuxalk Fisheries Department staff decide on
future fisheries projects, food fishing guidelines, and other issues related to fishing that are
important to the Nuxalk community.
