Axtsikayc honoured with Canadian Aboriginal Music Award


Agnes “Axtsikayc” Edgar Sr is being awarded posthumously by the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards (CAMAs) 2007 with the Keeper of Traditions in Aboriginal Music Award. The award is presented to an individual dedicated to teaching Aboriginal culture through music. For more information, go to World Music Central .

Sina Robert Tallio, Lenore Edgar, Karen Edgar (Anderson) and Roseanne Andy will be on hand to accept the award on behalf of Axtsikayc at the CAMA VIP Dinner and Awards in Toronto on Thursday, November 29th.


There will be a Celebration Feast at the Nuxalk Community Hall on Saturday, December 8, 2020 to showcase the award and present it to the community.


The Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards (CAMAs) are part of the Canadian Aboriginal Festival & Pow Wow taking place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto November 30 - December 2, 2007. For more information, go to:
